MG Cup Rounds 9 &10 Snetterton – Pre Race Report
The MG Cup rolls into Snetterton for its season’s finale with classes and championship to be decided, the climax of the MG Car Clubs most action-packed championship with its great mix of MG & Rover cars for two rounds of close competitive racing.
With 2 races left who will be crowned Champion and who will win its 4 classes….. with drop scores playing a part, calculators will be at the ready in the paddock after the final race of the season…
Big grids, close classes and a great paddock atmosphere there is no better championship to race in #fillthegrid
In class A (road going) Dale Reet leads the fight for class honours followed by John Gill and then Carl Robinson.
In class B (Modified) Chris Boulton leads Ian Boulton and then Iain Dowler whos engine failure at Oulton means he is hungry for a win so we expect to see some hard thought racing to separate the front runners this weekend.
In class C (Race) Richard Buckley leads championship and the class followed by Peter Burchill and then Mike Williams.
In class I we see Stuart Tranter leading and this weekend he will face Matt Simpson in his new Rover 216 Gti challenge car and Julia Penfold in her MGZR170

Great news Rod is getting back behind the wheel at Snetterton, we all look forward to seeing him in the paddock once more. We will be having a collection for Cancer Research UK during awards so can all drivers please #bringyourwallet Rod will be sharing with Steve Tyler from British Legends

The AGM will start at about 2pm and is open to all registered drivers. Potential drivers for 2020 are welcome. I am sure a some of us will be arriving earlier for some lunch, for those staying at the venue we can check in from 2pm.

216 gti brakes cover for Snetterton debut, the ex one make challenge car owned by Matt Simpson will have its first run since being recommissioned. Matt long term Tomcat racer added the car to his collection in the last 10 days and is looking forward to trying this classic retro gti.
The MG Cup welcomes MG /Rover cars and will be adding the 216 Gti to regulations for 2020.

Simon Lowery will be joining us now that the Cockshoot Cup season has finished at Snetterton on 300 circuit on the 5th October in his Mk2 MGZS180. #fillthegrid #tomcatchasing
