Home of MG Rover Club Racing
What a night, celebrating the MG Cup Series with our drivers….. What a year for the MG Cup we have fitted in well with the transition to a Series, we have had the biggest grids of modern MGs racing in the UK. Thats been noticed, with regulations enforced, driving standards policed it makes for great racing.
Drivers get lunch and hospitality all weekend, which adds a new dimension to club racing. People forget that we all work hard, and racing should be about friends across all series and that is what Equipe do so well. With 46 registrations already we are set to have another exceptional year racing in the Equipe Classic Racing. That’s why new drivers and importantly novices have chosen Equipe.

We celebrate another year of great racing with great people. Drivers and guests from GTS, Libre, Pre ’63, 50s, MG Cup, BCV8, 70s and F2 Atlantic will be in attendance. As a series and not a championship, we take the opportunity to look back on all of our series highlights in 2024 and enjoy a fabulous evening with good food, great company and questionable dancing. Whittlebury Park near Silverstone is the venue once again the venue for our Equipe 2024 Dinner Dance.

Since leaving the MGCC when they announced they did not wish to continue the race championships the MGCup has had a good ongoing relationship with the individual registers, It is therefore with disappointment we have been informed from the MGF Register admins that they have been requested to no longer accept social media feeds from us or any postings relating to our growing series, whilst this is not quite in line with their tag line of “friendship” we wish the register all the best in future. Of course, our update postings will be available elsewhere online and it will not distract from our future growth. Bring on 2025

A chance to buy a front running Class A MGZR160 – Contact Greg Elgood
I am currently selling my Class A MGZR 160.
The best and first MG touring car livery, a great talking point for commentators and the crowd…..
This will come ready to race for the 2025 season meeting to class A regulations. Sports cat fitted, JanSpeed cat back exhaust, lowering springs, uprated brakepads, braided brake lines, kmaps controlled ecu.
Extinguisher serviced in July along with all new bowden cables.
Will come with a new set of TRS Hans endurance belts.
Cobra Evolution seat with helmet brace, I’m a 38inch waist and it’s not loose and not snug.
It has previously been a 170 but converted back so won’t take much to go back to 170.
The engine was rebuilt at the beginning of last season by the previous owner and has been faultless in my ownership.
Engine oil changed after every 2 meetings with fucsh racing 5w40 oil.
Just had an Andrew goater rebuilt gearbox fitted, with only one meeting racing on it, filled with Millers racing gearbox oil. New borg and beck clutch kit.
Both driveshafts has been rebuilt with 4 new cv joints.
Gear linkage completely rebuilt with darkice uj and powerflex black bushes.
Front subframe was replaced with new item.
Front brake traction bars rebuilt with powerflex black bushes.
Powerflex purple lower arm bushes and roll bar axle mounts.
2 new front tow straps.
New front shocks.
New front mintex F4R pads at the start of the season but still has around 70% life in them, discs were like new when I changed the pads so left them in.
Rear brake pads, mintex 1155 fitted at start of season and again with about 80-90% left on them, again discs were like new.
All bran new pad retaining clips were fitted back In.
In-car rear brake bias valve fitted.
Rear axle beam was replaced with a bran new item, fitted with powerflex purple bushes, new axle hanger mounts, new stub axles, new rear wheel bearings, new rear shocks, every bolt was replaced with new….
It will come with 4x toyo r888r that was new at the beginning of season and still have plenty of life left in, less the half worn on the worse one and very little roll over wear. 2x part worn r888r for spairs, again probably just over half worn. 4 bran new uniroyal rainsport 5 never used. All tyres come mounted on staight 16inch hairpins.
This is truly a get in and race package, just add your transponder.
Now for the only bad bit…… the bodywork. It’s had its fair share on knocks and bangs over the years, with dents, scrapes and replacement panels but this doesn’t effect how it drives and looks awesome still from the sidelines of the track.
This is a competitive car in the correct hands, I’m still very much a novice but still managed class wins and podiums.
Now, down to the nitty gritty, how much am I asking for this piece of machinery.
£5500
I think it a fair price for this car, with the amount of work that’s gone into it, and as already mentioned, it’s a ready to race package…..
If there is anything In particular you want to know or want any more photos, just send me a message.
