Home of MG Rover Club Racing
The first of the two 20-minute Equipe MG Cup races starts off the day’s competitive track action, and with over 25 cars entered it should be another great race for the closely matched field. Stuart Tranter won both races at Oulton Park in May and returns with his potent Rover 220 Turbo Tomcat, but may not have things all his own way in the Invitation class as also back is Dennis Robinson’s ZR170, who took the double at Cadwell Park in April.
The slick-shod Class D cars have been front runners this season and Peter Bramble has won the class already twice this year, both times taking second overall in his MGB Roadster. Ian Boulton is always quick and Eliza Seville who claimed both Class A wins at Silverstone last month is out in her MGF.
Class C should be a battle between the ZR180s of Simon Lowery and Ashley Woodward, but it is a packed Class B that should be a highlight of the races. Cal Moore has already taken the class three times this season, but with the class supplying over half the field and drivers of the calibre of Leon Wignall keen to push him hard it will not be an easy race for Moore.
